Juan Torres is Glencoe High School's Rotary Student of the Month

Congratulations to Juan Torres, Hillsboro Rotary Club Student of the Month from Glencoe High School. Juan and his mom, Maura Mejia, joined the Rotary for lunch to celebrate his achievement, where he expressed thanks for his teachers, counselors and family. Juan shared three words he would use to describe himself: hardworking, determined and organized. He is particularly proud of being invited to join Glencoe's AP class in his sophomore year, which helped him realize he has what it takes to succeed. Juan is also proud of be a member of the National Honor Society because it represents scholarship, leadership, service and character. Being invited to NHS shows that his hard work and determination pay off, and motivates him to continue to strive for excellence. In the future, Juan would like to pursue a career in science or medicine. He plans to be the first in his family to attend college, likely at U of O. Keep up the good work, Juan! We are cheering for your continued success and wish you all the best.
